The Neuroscientist Who Hit $350k Funded and $20k in Payouts Once He Stopped Trying to Outsmart the Market
Full Interview Summary
Yongi spent nearly a decade in science before trading. He loves the research. What he didn't love was the money around it. Academia barely covers survival, and he'd watched brilliant peers give up their life's work for financial reasons. He didn't come to trading to escape his career. He came to protect it. Being smart nearly cost him everything. Trained to question and build from first principles, he treated trading like another research project, layering on indicators and testing strategy after strategy, certain the answer was one more piece of knowledge away. He was convinced he'd have to figure it out alone. That path drained him. There were many moments he thought trading was a scam and he was done. The turn came when he stopped building from zero. Instead of another course, he found a blueprint he could build on, one system to add his own flavor to. The lessons were almost boringly simple: trade one chart until you know it cold, stop jumping between strategies, manage risk so a loss is just a loss, and review the trades you lose. It took him roughly four years to get consistent, and he'll tell you that patience is the point. His goal was never a Lamborghini. It was a few thousand a month so he'd never have to choose between money and the work he loves. He passed it, and he's still in the lab.
